Katie, Marc and Joanna
During our 3rd and 4th days of work Katie and Marc excavated
the cave. Marc found a large piece of pottery. Katie found rocks. It was very
exciting. Joanna the Great worked very hard (as always) cutting down trees in
the sweltering Spanish heat. There was also a group who were building a
Neolithic fence out of sticks, clay and wood. Raz was tired (and his legs hurt).
For our free time, the camp leaders organised free entry to
the local swimming pool. We also played a Werewolf game organised by Nina in
the evening, in which the majority of the camp was unfortunately slaughtered.
On Saturday we played a game called “photo safari”. This involved
using a map to navigate Bergues and taking funny selfies at marked points. In
the evening we had dinner in the school playground fuelled by plenty of enchanted
craft beer. After dinner we taught each other the traditional dances of our
countries.
On Sunday and Monday we had a pottery workshop. On Sunday We
made clay using sand gathered at the cave. The next day we made our own pots.
